Getting Close to Building!
Our progress on permits has been slow, but we are moving forward! We learned we do not need permits for our work near the wetlands. This was a big relief! We also have our Soil Erosion permit, which is an important step before beginning construction. We paid many of our permit fees and even the city planner believes we’re close to getting our building permit.
We’re still waiting on our Drain Commission approval. We’ve now completed two revisions for their department and hope this last edit satisfies their requirements. We want our building to have proper stormwater management so we and our neighbors aren’t negatively affected by inclement weather. We’re also working on getting gas and electric set up at the site.
Don’t forget that registration is open! We are hoping to fill more spots in the Preschool Rooms and are happy to add to the Toddler Room waitlist. Our school is expected to start in November. I will keep everyone up to date once construction starts and begins to progress.
This has been a long journey and we haven’t even started building yet! However, I know this school will be amazing. Children deserve a place where they have lots of land to explore and time to discover all the things they can do. We’ll have spacious classrooms designed just for young children and lots of materials for them to explore. The wait will be worth it!
